Before starting the lesson, I always prepare the lesson plan in advance. Once the lesson plan is finalized, I proceed with teaching. The teaching sequence includes starting with a prayer, checking attendance, reviewing previous material, providing motivation, and then implementing the 5E teaching model. For the subject of art, I use topics such as repetition, contrast, and rhythm. During this stage, I also introduced the students to batik as a cultural element.
I manage time by ensuring students are ready to learn through engaging ice-breaking activities. For instance, I use the "The Best" clap to refocus the students when they start losing attention or become noisy. To manage my teaching time effectively, I practice independent teaching sessions to measure the time required for each activity before applying it in class.
Managing the classroom involves creating a supportive and structured environment where students feel engaged and motivated. I use clear instructions, interactive activities, and positive reinforcement to ensure smooth classroom interactions. I also set expectations early on to guide students' behavior effectively.
When students lose focus, I address the issue by encouraging them to move through ice-breaking activities. For instance, I guide them through a short, fun movement activity to regain their attention. Additionally, I provide reminders about classroom rules and expectations at the beginning of each lesson to reinforce a structured learning environment.
