HELP US CLOSE THE GAP IN EDUCATION SURROUNDING RARE DISORDERS

The National Organization for Rare Disorders Student Chapter at Purdue University helps students in Bioimaging, Chemistry, and Biomedical Sciences connect through networking, volunteering, and research focused on rare diseases. Our mission is to raise awareness, educate, and advocate for rare disease research. We aim to build a supportive community and collaborate with local nonprofits, pharmaceutical companies, and research labs. We bring in speakers, promote research and educational opportunities, and support diversity within the rare disorders community.

Supporting this project is crucial because it addresses the lack of education and awareness about rare disorders. These conditions often suffer from limited visibility, leading to delays in diagnosis, inadequate treatments, and insufficient support for patients and their families.

Without adequate funding, we won't be able to invite expert speakers, which will limit educational opportunities for our students and the community. This lack of expert interaction will hinder the spread of important knowledge about rare disorders. Additionally, our research and development of educational resources will be restricted, slowing progress in understanding and treating these conditions.

Rare disorders often go unnoticed, and there is a critical need to raise awareness and educate both the medical community and the public. Immediate funding will allow us to host seminars and bring in experts, speeding up the spread of essential information about rare disorders.
