The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) is a five-year baccalaureate degree program offered in the College of Engineering (CE). Industrial Engineering as a name is used in industry, commerce, and government maybe the broadcast of all the modern management functions that if consists of all engineering and management control activities that cannot be clearly designated as a part of other engineering or accounting functions. It is a large umbrella that includes a wide variety of task established for the purpose of designing, implementing and maintaining management system for effective operations.
The department prognosticates its graduates as professionals with high level of competitive in all facets of production/manufacturing systems, operation research, human factor, time and motion, and production design. Moreover, the graduates will primarily concerned with the design, improvement and installation of the integrated systems of man, materials, capital and equipment, drawing upon knowledge and skills from mathematical, physical and social sciences.
1) Strengthen the BSIE programs consistent with global trends;
2) Develop critical thinking and communication skills of students, giving emphasis to research and extension services;
3) Equip students with appropriate knowledge and technical skills, imbued with desired work attitude and moral values through enhanced teaching and learning process;
4) Create a conducive teaching and learning atmosphere with emphasis to students’ growth and academic freedom;
5) Establish network with local and international educational institutions, industry, GO’s, and NGO’;
6) Continuously conduct action research or the needs of collaboration and other facilities that could be locally produced and innovated using local material and adapted technology.
