PNP Basic Computer Essentials Course (BCEC)
This course is designed to familiarize the participants with the major program groups of Microsoft Office. The course allows the participants hands-on computer experience to investigate and explore the different capabilities inside the Windows Office Package. During the course the participants will produce documents, worksheets and presentations. At the end of the course the participants will be able to navigate through the different menu and dialog boxes in the windows environment;
Produce and modify text documents using MS Word;
Create, edit and format cells on a worksheet using MS Excel;
Produce and modify presentations using MS PowerPoint.; and
Use internet for research studies and communicate through electronic mail.
Computer Hardware Maintenance and Troubleshooting Course (CHMTC)
This course is designed to familiarize the participants with the parts of the computer system. The participants will learn the following: the diagnostic procedures for identifying, isolating and correcting computer hardware and software problems. They will also be able to identify tools, diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting techniques and perform preventative maintenance on personal computer components.
Multi Media Course (MMC)
Multimedia is the combined use of text, graphics, sound, animation, and video. A primary objective of this course is to teach participants how to develop multimedia programs. Another objective is to demonstrate how still images, sound, and video can be digitized on the computer. It is a comprehensive IT training course designed to provide a fully interactive hands-on approach in learning and understanding a multi-media course similar to a class room type teacher - student atmosphere. This course has four (4) modules namely: Module 1: ITP on MRP, HR, GAD and PNP Patrol Plan; Module 2: Basic Photography; Module 3: Photo Enhancement and Editing; and Module 4: Image Tricks and Animation. These modules are comparative to the expensive courses offered by well known IT schools in the country thus, participants will be using user friendly and WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors/software to ensure that participants will easily learn every modules of the course.
Webpage Development Course
Web Development course is designed for IT enthusiast who are involved or who will be involved in the design, development, and publishing of web pages. This course is designed to provide the fundamental concepts of webpage development using the HTML, CSS and PHP/MySQL. The participants will be acquainted with the development of static and dynamic website. They will be able to create, design and develop web pages. The participants will use open source software like XAMPP or WAMP to develop a dynamic websites. This course has five (5) modules namely:
Module 1: Course Overview and General Subjects
Module 2: Introduction to Webpage;
Module 3: Cascading Stylesheet (CSS);
Module 4: Web Development using Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP); and
Module 5: Creating Database using MySQL (Sequential Query Language)
PNP Basic Data Communication and Networking Course (BDCNC)
This course serves as a general introduction for students seeking to acquire a foundation in current network technologies for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and the Internet. The course provides an introduction to hardware, software, terminology, components, design, and connections of a network. Network concepts such as the OSI model, topologies, and major protocols, as well as the basic functions of system administration and operation are also included. The course is operating system independent and provides an introduction to several popular network operating systems.
Systems Analysis and Design Course (SADC)
System analysis and design deal with planning the development of information systems through understanding and specifying in detail what a system should do and how the components of the system should be implemented and work together. System analysts solve business problems through analyzing the requirements of information systems and designing such systems by applying analysis and design techniques. This course deals with the concepts, skills, methodologies, techniques, tools, and perspectives essential for systems analysts.
Computer Programming Course (ComProgC)
Java is a computer programming language that enables programmers to write computer instructions using English-based commands instead of having to write in numeric codes. It’s known as a high-level language because it can be read and written easily by humans. Like English, Java has a set of rules that determine how the instructions are written. These rules are known as its syntax. Once a program has been written, the high-level instructions are translated into numeric codes that computers can understand and execute.
This course has four (4) modules namely: Module 1: ITP on MRP, HR and GAD and Protocol to ERI Investigation and PNP Patrol Plan; Module 2. Introduction to Java Programming and/or programming language related to the current tool being used by ITMS; Module 3. Learning the Java Language; Module 4: Functional Programming and Module 5: Written/Practical Examination and Case Study.
Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. As of 2016, Java is one of the most popular programming languages in use particularly for client-server web applications. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++, but it has fewer low-level facilities than either of them.
