about the race

The Peachtree City Running Club, Tri-PTC, and RunHNL have teamed together to host the 7th edition of the Peachtree City Marathon Relay. We're excited to be back after a hiatus, and this year, the race will return home to the beautiful Drake Field in Peachtree City. Teams of four runners will combine to run a marathon, with each participant running a 10K. The event offers a great opportunity to meet new runners and engage in the spirit of friendly competition. Most importantly, the race is one for runners of all speeds and experience--it's about the individual teammates contributing to achieve a great feat.

event date & time

The race will take place on June 4, 2022. Check-in begins at 6 AM. Pre-race announcements begin at 6:55 AM, and the race starts at 7 AM. Click here for a detailed schedule of the day.

runner teams

The teams will be assigned based upon the speed of each runner (according to their estimated 10K finish time). Each team will have runners of varying skill, experience, and speed. We try to assign teams so that they all finish around the same time. Team assignments will be emailed on Sunday, May 29 at 5 PM-ish. You will receive an email with your team assignments and instructions for the race. Your team will decide who will run each route, as well as establishing a team name. Bonus points for most creative name.

race cost

Thanks to generous contributions by RunHNL, the Peachtree City Running Club, and Tri-PTC, the race is FREE to all participants. If you aren't a member of any of these clubs, talk to the members during the race and learn all about the cool offerings for each club. If you're a member of one of these clubs, use this event to meet a new pal. You never know--you might meet your new training partner or maybe your future spouse.

race questions

You've got questions, and we've got answers. Check out our Questions page to answer commonly asked questions. Take solace in knowing you weren't the only one confused by this race. We get it. If you're hopelessly lost and confused, shoot an email to the Race Director (ptcmarathon@gmail.com), and we'll try our best to get you sorted out. We might like your question so much that we add it to the Questions page. Suddenly, you're an internet star!

post-race shenanigans

A free race AND free food AND the possibility of a free award? We might've hit the peak of the human experience. After the race ends, we'll supply lots of food and drinks for the participants, volunteers, and spectators. The food will actualy get there before the end of the race, but I don't recommend eating a bunch of pizza before you've finished running your loops.

The award presentation will begin after the last team finishes. The top-3 teams will receive awards, and the winning team will have their names engraved on the coveted Peachtree City Marathon Relay Cup. Pour your recovery drink into cup and chug it like you just won the Stanley Cup. Actually, on second thought, probably better to avoid that. I don't think anyone has ever cleaned the trophy.

race photos

Thanks to the dedicated work of our race-day volunteer photographers, runners will have the opportunity to download their photos for free. Whoa! Free photos, too!?! This race just keeps getting better. Check out the Shutterfly page where the photos will be posted.

relay routes

For information about the routes, including course profiles and elevation comparisons, visit our Routes page for lots of good information. In addition, we will upload the routes to major platforms (Strava, MapMyRun, Garmin) to download to your GPS devices. The routes will be marked on race day with signs, and we will host practice runs of the loops (time TBD).

runner registration

Registration is now open for the 2022 edition of the Peachtree City Marathon Relay! To register, click this link and fill out the Google Form. You should receive an email confirming your entrance to the race. If you do not receive the email within an hour of registering, send an email to ptcmarathon@gmail.com to confirm your registration status. Be carefule when entering your email address--all race communication will be sent throuh emails, and we'd hate for you to miss out on the race because of an incorrectly entered email address. While we encourage runners of all speeds and experience levels, we require that all participants complete a 10K within 90 minutes.

race volunteer

Putting on this race requires a lot of help--from marking the course, to setting up the race, monitoring the race, and cleaning up after the race. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this volunteer registration Google Form. You will receive an email confirmation, and as the race nears, you'll receive additional information about volunteering for the race. You are able to volunteer for the race and participate in the race, as well.
