Dr. Johnny B. Decatoria, popularly known as Doc J, is a Licensed Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Clinical Social Worker, Educator, and Trauma Specialist certified by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress in New York. He trained under Dr. Francine Shapiro, the originator of EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and became the first EMDR Therapist in the Philippines. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Far Eastern University (FEU) and a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work & Psychology from La Salle University, USA, under a UNDP scholarship.
For many years, he has committed and dedicated his personal and professional life to international humanitarian work and services through the United Nations System, working with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, St. Lucia, Commonwealth of Dominica, Barbados, other Eastern Caribbean nations, Kosovo, and Africa. His work focused on trauma recovery, child protection, and capacity-building for social workers, counselors, and health professionals. Earlier in his career, he also served in the Philippine government as a Parole and Probation Officer under the Department of Justice.
Doc J pioneered trauma services in the Philippines by founding the first-ever Psychotrauma Clinic in the country at the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School. He later established the Crisis and Psychotrauma Center at LCC-Bacolod, the first trauma center outside Metro Manila, and the Recoletos de Bacolod Psychotrauma Clinic. He has made significant contributions in advancing trauma interventions and in training and mentoring professional psychologists, social workers, and counselors nationwide.
Currently, he runs a private clinic in Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB), where he helps clients with trauma and psychological dysfunction. He also serves LGUs in Negros Occidental as a DSWD Psychosocial Consultant, acts as an Expert Witness for Family Court, and continues to teach at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, and La Consolacion College-Bacolod.
He is currently the President of the National Association for Psychotrauma Workers Corporation in the Philippines.

Dr. Rodel P. Canlas is a distinguished Associate Professor at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), where he has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology since 2008. A licensed psychologist and psychometrician, he has extensive academic experience, teaching courses in Neuroanatomy, Theories of Personality, and Ethics in Psychology, among others.
In his professional practice, Dr. Canlas holds a key role as a Clinical Psychologist at the UST Health Service, where he provides psychoeducation, psychological assessment, and interventions to the Thomasian community. He also serves as a Senior Psychologist and Mental Health Consultant at Fully Psych Mental Health Services, specializing in individualized psychotherapeutic interventions for complex cases. Dr. Canlas has a long history of providing specialized services at the Porta Coeli Center for Pastoral Counseling and Psychotrauma Management, where he offers psychotherapy and counseling for trauma victims and survivors of various crises.
Additionally, Dr. Canlas is a respected authority in sports psychology, serving as a Consultant for the Sports Psychology Unit of the Philippine Sports Commission. In this capacity, he designs performance improvement programs, provides psychological evaluations and crisis interventions for athletes, and orients foreign coaches to the Filipino psyche. Dr. Canlas is an active member of the academic community, holding various appointments, and is a sought-after speaker and resource person for seminars and conferences.

Dr. Imelu G. Mordeno is a distinguished academic, clinical practitioner, and researcher with a robust commitment to psychology, education, and mental health advocacy. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Professional Education at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), Mindanao, Philippines, and concurrently serves as the Executive Director of the Research Institute for Business Education, Health and Social Sciences (RIBEHSS).
As a prolific researcher, Dr. Mordeno has synergistically combined academic rigor with practical application. He is a member of the editorial board of BMC Psychology and the Journal of Environmental and Social Psychology, and previously served as associate editor of the Philippine Journal of Psychology. He has published extensively and regularly reviews for ISI- and Scopus-indexed journals. His current research interests include positive education, teachers’ well-being, peace education, scale development, mental health assessment and intervention efficacy, and the integration of technology in education and psychology. Among his ongoing projects are research programs on non-academic determinants of reading, and the mental health of conflict-exposed survivors.
Beyond his academic work, Dr. Mordeno has been a clinical practitioner for more than two decades. He has helped establish several therapy centers, including the Antonia de Oviedo Center, St. Margheritine Therapy Center, Cebu Hope Counseling Clinic, University of Santo Tomas Psychotrauma Clinic, Psyc Serv Center, Legal Alternative for Women Counseling Center, and the Center for Psychological Research and Practice (CPRP). These initiatives, supported by international funding agencies such as Terres Des Hommes, Karl Kubel Stiftung, and AusAid, demonstrate his ability to synergize global partnerships with local community needs.
As an educator, Dr. Mordeno has taught at the University of San Carlos, the University of Santo Tomas, and the Universidade de São José – Catholic University of Portugal in Macau, where he also served as Director of the Center for Psychological Research and Practice. He has conducted numerous trainings and workshops on mental health and psychological well-being locally and abroad, further strengthening his role as a mentor, scholar, and advocate.

Reverend Father Edgardo "Egai" de Jesus, PhD, BCETS, RGC, is a Registered Guidance Counselor and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a major in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Santo Tomas. He also earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry, both from Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology. With over two decades of experience, he has served as a professor at Immaculate Conception Major Seminary and as an Associate Professor Lecturer at the UST-Graduate School, where he taught subjects like Psycho-trauma Management, Pastoral Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Currently, Fr. Egai de Jesus is the Chaplain of the Shrine of Our Lady of Piat and the Vice-President of the National Association for Psychotrauma Workers Corporation (NAPWorC). He is the founder and school director of Escuela de Santo Padre Pio and serves as the President of the Mahal na Birhen ng Piat Foundation. He has been honored with numerous accolades, including the Golden Peacock Humanitarian Peace Trusted Institutional Director and Professor Advocate by the World’s Council Excellence Awards Ministry and the Dangal ng UST Hall of Fame for Community Service. He was also recognized as the Most Outstanding Alumnus for Community Service by the UST-Graduate School on its 80th Foundation Anniversary.
As a seasoned speaker and facilitator, Fr. Egai de Jesus is passionate about topics such as psycho-spiritual healing, crisis intervention, and dealing with psychological trauma survivors. He has conducted seminars and workshops for diverse audiences, including students, faculty, religious groups, and professionals. His work includes providing psychosocial interventions for survivors of armed conflict, typhoons, and other traumatic experiences. He brings a unique blend of psychological expertise and spiritual guidance, drawing on his extensive experience as a retreat master, recollection facilitator, and pastoral counselor.

Dr. Leo is a distinguished psychologist, academic, and psychotrauma specialist with a robust commitment to mental health, resilience, and trauma-informed care. Born in Cagayan de Oro City and raised in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, he has pursued a comprehensive and synergistic educational journey. He began his higher education at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, followed by a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling as a CHED-FAPE Scholar. In 2009, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, major in Clinical Psychology, at the University of Santo Tomas, with his dissertation on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – Integrative Group Intervention Among Children Victims of Armed Conflict in Mindanao recognized as the best dissertation of his batch.
Currently, Dr. Leo serves as a faculty member at Central Mindanao University, a position he has held since 1992, and as a faculty affiliate at the Ateneo de Davao University Graduate School since 2009. He also directs LEAD Psychological Services in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro and serves as a consultant psychologist at Capitol University Medical Center. His teaching, clinical practice, and research synergistically converge on psychotrauma management, crisis intervention, psychological assessment, and EMDR psychotherapy, reflecting his dedication to both academic excellence and community well-being.
Dr. Leo is also an active member of numerous professional organizations, both national and international. He serves as Mindanao Coordinator of the National Association of Psychotrauma Workers (NAPWorC) and holds memberships in the American Psychological Association, Psychological Association of the Philippines, Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. His professional recognitions include certification as a Clinical and Counseling Psychologist by the Psychological Association of the Philippines, registration as a Psychologist and Psychometrician under the Professional Regulation Commission, and accreditation as a Level 2 EMDR psychotherapist with the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), New York.
A deeply engaged scholar-practitioner, Dr. Leo has blended academic rigor with frontline service. He has led crisis response initiatives for survivors of natural disasters, armed conflict, and violence across Mindanao. His community-based interventions have supported former rebels, displaced children, and survivors of war, school violence, and calamities.

Dr. Jose Jeffrey S. Puentespina is a Professor in Psychology at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Bacolod City, and a Graduate School Professor of Psychology at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod City. He is a licensed professional teacher, registered guidance counselor, and registered psychologist. Dr. Puentespina holds a Master's in Guidance Counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy, both from the University of St. La Salle.
Dr. Puentespina is the Visayas Coordinator for the National Association for Psychotrauma Workers Corporation (NAPWorC). He is also a volunteer psychologist at the Recoletos de Bacolod Psychotrauma Clinic and a researcher at the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse, focusing on protective and therapeutic interventions.
As a practicing psychologist, Dr. Puentespina specializes in forensic expertise related to marital conflict, infidelity cases, child custody evaluations, and mental health assessments for couples.

Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Psychology
Dr. Miriam P. Cue is recognized as the Philippines’ first registered and licensed psychologist and psychometrician. She currently serves as the first working Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology (PRB) at the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Dr. Cue has an illustrious career spanning over 45 years in teaching, research, and psychological practice across five specialty areas: Clinical, Counseling, Assessment, Addiction, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
A distinguished academic and professional, Dr. Cue holds master's and doctoral degrees in Counseling and Psychology from De la Salle University, where she graduated with high academic distinction. Her excellence has been nationally recognized, including being named the Most Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Counseling by the Foundation of Outstanding Professionals and the PRC in 2012.
Dr. Cue is a strong advocate for Mental Health and an internationally-known expert in the Treatment and Recovery of people suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). She is an Internationally Certified Addiction Professional – Level 3 and a distinguished Global Master Trainer on the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) for SUD under The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program (CPDAP). She is also a Global Trainer for Drug Demand Reduction by the UNODC and the ISSUP, and a consultant at the New Day Recovery Center.
Beyond her regulatory and international work, Dr. Cue is deeply committed to community service. As a proud Boholano, she co-founded PAGPAKABUHI, a volunteer organization for Mental Health in her province, where she leads the team of Responders and Mental Health Professionals. Her published works include international research journals on concerns related to Trauma & Healing.
