Our pediatric residency program utilizes a dual-approach evaluation framework, conducted quarterly. Every 1st and 3rd quarter, residents partner with mentorship faculty for direct observation in a chosen skill, such as data gathering or oral presentation. This includes real-time verbal feedback and a written competency evaluation via New Innovations. The 2nd and 4th quarters shift to a broader perspective, with faculty collaborating to discuss each resident, culminating in a comprehensive, competency-based evaluation submitted by their primary faculty member.Â
Quarter 1 direct observation evaluations due by the end of September each year
Quarter 3 direct observation evaluations due by the end of March each year
Quarter 2 evaluation completed by faculty mentors by the end of December each year
Quarter 4 faculty evaluations completed by the end of June each year
