Numerous stakeholders can support PSN.
Community outreach specialists are part of the USAO Team and can help foster community relationships and facilitate engagement with community groups. They support the PSN Coordinator and LEC to strengthen relationships between local law enforcement and the community.
It is important to include a range of community stakeholders, including schools, social services, community health centers, prevention programs, reentry and transitional housing programs, local government, employers, neighborhood associations, and the faith community.
Involve service providers and local nonprofit foundations (e.g., YMCA, United Way) within the community that may have an interest in contributing to crime reduction initiatives. Organizations that may be able to provide programs, courses, supplies, physical space, and other necessities to support prevention, intervention, and reentry for adults and juveniles should be included in a PSN initiative.
