OUR STORY
Once upon a time...
Premier Sports Leagues Inc was first established in March 2015 as Premier Floorball Inc. The original vision was to introduce youth & adults to a new sport that was emerging out of Europe and garnering the attention of iconic organizations such as Hockey Canada and NHL players/ teams. The sport is known as floorball and the initial introductions were through the community school system.
As more community schools were being introduced to the sport of floorball, more parents of youth were inquiring about getting their children involved. As the months went along, new floorball activities and programs (sport services) were being developed to reach youth. Activities such as team party, minor hockey cross training, drop in a play floorball events, floorball tournaments were developed and club leagues programs initiated for youth to complete in weekly game play
As the requests continued to come in for sport services and Founders time limited, it was determined that 'partners' within each local community were necessary. To ensure that the floorball services were being properly delivered and inline with the national/international sport governing body standards and rules, delivery processes and standard guidelines along with roles & responsibilities were created for the community 'partners'.
Continuous improvement and modifications to processes and standards became commonplace to ensure quality and consistency in delivery of services across all floorball clubs in several communities.
Marketing strategies that were being tested began to work. Ad hoc software solutions were created to help deliverables for floorball activities and club league programs become more efficient. More onus were being put on the local community partners to deliver the sport services while the Founders focused on building a more systematized model while still investing some time at each community "club" to trial new programs or introduce new methodologies.
With the community partners now being more involved, revenues streams increasing and much of the systems, marketing and operations proving to be working, the consensus was that this 'operation' could scale into a business. It became evident at this point of the validation of the market, customer and product for this new type sport and the need for a systematized delivery of its activities and programs if the sport was going to compete among the other more popular organized youth sports in the marketplace.
Over a four year period the Founders continually designed, created, implemented and evaluated a number of key business systems (marketing, advertising, operations, administration), upgraded the sports/business management software and develop better training programs to build a platform that could consistently start, grow and sustain floorball club leagues in any community.
As more and more intellectual property was being developed and proving to be successful to the business, the Founders felt a need to enter into a more formal partnership with the existing and any future community partners.
It was determined that a formal agreement would be best whereby the terms would be mutually beneficial to all parties so as to ensure investments of time and money were appropriately compensated and trade secrets for the new emerging business model protected.
In January 2019, Premier Floorball Inc. drafted a license agreement and tested the new strategic partnership, making revisions and edits as expectations, roles and responsibilities became more defined.
What emerged by late Fall of 2019 was a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for a business that would find its place in the world of the $19 billion Organized Sports Market. What the Founders also discovered in the process was that much of what was developed (business systems, training, software, sport activities & programs, marketing strategies & collateral and administration etc.) could be applicable to more sports 'products' and not limit to only a single sport product.
In 2020, Premier Floorball Inc was renamed to Premier Sports Leagues Inc., and a revised franchise agreement drafted to now position the business as a multi sport franchise model that sought to partner with more community leaders looking for either a "lifestyle" business (flexible hours, home based, low investment, low overhead, part time) OR a business that could scaled up to a full time business that would encompassed several surrounding communities within their region.
In the coming years and decades, Premier Sports Leagues Inc will grow to 300 franchise throughout North America. In the more populated dense urban areas, the franchise concept will be a brick and mortar type where a set physical Site to serve a cluster of surrounding communities and replace the need for a franchise to rent local gym facilities
As Premier Sports Leagues franchise system evolves, franchisees players, coaches and officials will have an opportunity to participate in annual multi sports tournaments hosted in the head office location to vy for the Premier Cup!
