What to Expect

The PALS creation process is largely automated through specialized chatbots. After identifying your course topics and learning objectives, the chatbots guide you through each step:

While the chatbots handle content generation and formatting, you maintain full control over the educational content and can review and adjust outputs at each stage.

Prerequisites

• A paid ChatGPT account (required to access the GPT builder)

• Course topics and learning objectives identified

• Basic familiarity with ChatGPT conversation interface

Each chatbot is designed to be user-friendly and will guide you through its portion of the process. No technical expertise or coding knowledge is required.

1. Manually identify/document Chapter Topics and Learning Objectives for all chapters

   • Use the standardized format shown above

   • Ensure all learning objectives are clearly articulated and measurable 

2. Determine segmentation of Learning Objectives

   • Aim for 3-4 learning objectives per assignment

   • Consider the complexity of each objective when determining grouping

   • Avoid overloading assignments to prevent:

     1. Student cognitive overload

     2. Exceeding GPT context window limitations

   • If needed, split more complex topic areas across multiple assignments
