We stand up to the unprecedented decision of the EU states, including our own country, Greece, to "order a ban" on anything identified as Russian, including culture, education and public media.

The cancellations of scheduled performances by Russian artistic bodies, collaborations with Russian artists, as well as bans on the teaching of World Heritage books by Russian authors are reminiscent of the darkest pages of recent history, where brilliant examples of cultural heritage were withdrawn en masse because of the identity of the creators. These moves offer nothing to stop the criminal choice of Vladimir Putin and his government against the Ukrainian people.

Art and Education are the highest human ideals. They unite and do NOT divide human societies. Instead, they serve as a mutual understanding, Peace, desire for Freedom, harmonious coexistence and mutual respect against oppression, intolerance, discrimination, war and destruction. That is why their free development is one of the foundations of Democracy.

Moreover, global valid information is endangered by the selective presentation of facts, with the disappearance of any different or opposite point of view resulting in the inability to cross-reference information from different sources. A new doctrine of information is being promoted, that of "integrated journalism", which has been revealed and denounced in the last thirty years (1990-2022).

The use of concepts that are completely contrary to reality, such as the use of "Operation Peace" with war tactics, "closed centers" for the human infernos of immigrants and refugees, narrows the boundaries of thought, the horizons of consciousness and refers to the "New Speech" of Orwellian societies.
