Protect Oregon's Progress, aka POP
We're an Indivisible group in The Dalles, Oregon. Our mission is to:
Defend democracy and justice for all; to advocate for progressive issues through nonviolent action and holding leaders accountable by shining a light on their conduct.

NO KINGS IV - THE DALLES
Our plans are underway for No Kings 4 with the goal of turning out the largest early vote in history.
In The Dalles, here's what we have planned for
Saturday October 17:
10 - 11:30 AM: RALLIES TO GET OUT THE EARLY VOTE
We plan to cover 10 different high traffic corners all over The Dalles to ensure more people see our messages! Sign up here for a corner near you. This will help us make sure we have a solid presence throughout the community. Bring signs that encourage people to vote early. Here's a great list of sign message ideas. We'll have a few extras at every corner. Flags and costumes are welcome, too.
11:30 AM - 2:00 PM: VOTE EARLY
Check your mailbox, grab your ballot, VOTE, and return your ballot to the nearest official dropbox. In The Dalles, there's one on 5th St in front of the Courthouse and one at 401 E 3rd St, Suite 100, in front of the new County Elections Office.
NOTE: Ballots will be mailed to us on Wednesday Oct.14 and we HOPE most ballots will arrive by Saturday Oct. 17. If yours hasn't arrived, go through your Voter's Pamphlet, mark your choices and be ready to vote as soon as your ballot does arrive.
2:00 - 4:00 PM: EARLY VOTERS PARTY IN CITY PARK (707 Union St)
Join friends and neighbors for a celebration of one of our most fundamental rights as Americans - the right to choose our elected officials. We'll have music, games for kids and adults, free snacks and beverages, plus information about protecting our elections. Costumes are welcome!
MUTUAL AID FOR NO KINGS - Those who are able to do so are invited to bring something to contribute to the Columbia Gorge Food Bank, a critical resource for our community in these challenging times. Donations of shelf-stable (canned or boxed) soup will be collected at the Party in City Park from 2-4 PM.
OUR COMMITMENT TO NON-VIOLENCE
Peaceful action is how we show who we really are: a community that leads with courage, calm, and care for one another. Nonviolence makes space for everyone - families, elders, workers, neighbors - to show up without fear and be part of something bigger than themselves. When we stay grounded and steady, it becomes crystal clear who’s acting in good faith, and our message shines instead of getting lost in the noise. That clarity builds trust, grows our movement, and keeps us strong long after any single event. As we head into No Kings IV, we carry that same commitment to showing up powerfully - and peacefully - together.
