Tuesday October 7 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM - ICE Verification Training
We have expanded this training in The Dalles to encompass Immigration Overview as well as ICE Verification, facilitated by an Immigration Lawyer and Immigration Rapid Response Coordinator, with:
Historical overview of USG immigration policy and resultant changes among immigrant groups;
Relationships between the alphabet soup of immigration enforcement organizations; and
How to identify, interact with, and report on ICE-immigrant incidents in the community.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 18 - NO KINGS 2.0
NO KINGS is a peaceful national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration, which they have doubled down on since June. They are targeting immigrant families, profiling, arresting and detaining people without warrants; threatening to overtake elections; gutting health care, environmental protections, and education when families need them most; rigging maps to silence voters; ignoring mass shootings at our schools and in our communities; and driving up the cost of living while handling out massive giveaways to billionaire allies, as families struggle.
Volunteers Needed! For No Kings 2.0, we're going to need help with safety, security, organizing speakers, music, tables, food, and more. Can you join our planning team and help with one small piece? If so, please contact us at protectoregonsprogress@gmail.com.
Donations Needed! Though this event is being organized by volunteers, it's not cheap to put on something like this. We've got signs to print, supplies and insurance to purchase, and more. It all helps - no amount is too small. Click here to donate via our Act Blue account.

Rally for the Resistance! Every Friday from 4:30 - 5:30 PM
POP gathers peacefully with other members of the Gorge Community every Friday afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the four corners of Union and 2nd Street in The Dalles (in front of the Post Office). This is a time to stand up for our democracy and inspire others to do the same. Make your own sign or use one that we have available.
Bridges and Brews! Every Sunday from 5:00 - 6:00 PM
POP members gather on various local overpasses with a message for I-84 travelers appropriate for the week's events. Afterwards, those who wish to do so gather at a local pub for beverages and/or food. Please register for this team. No obligation to attend every week.
Monthly Meetings! Every 4th Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM
We've usually meet at Spooky's Pizza Parlour, but to make sure you have the latest information, be sure to sign up for our weekly newsletter. If you want to order food or a beverage, plan to come early around 5:30 and enjoy some social time before the meeting.
Monthly Postcard Parties! Every 1st Monday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM
Meet at The Riv and enjoy time with like-minded POP members and friends as we write postcards to voters for a wide variety of candidates and causes. We supply everything you need. Just bring yourself.
