Here you find information about the different elements that comprise the course evaluation for the Summer term 2019. The course "Teachers as learners: Media supported collaborative professional development in the context of second language learning and teaching" has two parts: course I (the compact week in Kiel) and course II (the study week as well as the development and presentation of your research project). The following graphic shows you these two elements and one final component that is optional for you. This element is a final conference in June 2020 with the aim at disseminating the ProPIC project. At this open event you can have the opportunity to showcase your research project to a wider audience.

Evaluation of course I
Course I (5 CP) is evaluated as follows:
- Your intended research project (40%) . This is a small-scale effort with the ultimate goal of getting new insights into your (future) work field. You will explore your field as a researcher. You search for related studies and literature that are useful for your quest, you propose a question that will guide your investigation and describe the steps you will take and the data you need to answer it. This is a PDF document (title page + maximum of 5 pages) that contains the following elements:
- A provisional title.
- Introduction to the topic of your research.
- Rationale: why is this topic relevant for your professional development?
- Your research question: what question leads your inquiry? how will you answer it? what kind of data do you need and how will you gather it?
- Setting/cooperation: will your project be developed in cooperation with another partner institution or international student? How?
- Product: how will you present your research? A website, a video production, an eBook...?
- Possible limitations
- Basic references
2. Your ePortfolio (60%) including activities from the interactive tutorials, the course I and the study week. The connection that you establish between the activities and your professional development is fundamental.

Evaluation of course II
Course II (5 CP) comprises the study week and it is evaluated as follows:
- Documentation of your finished research project (40%) . This is a small-scale effort with the ultimate goal of getting new insights into your (future) work field. You will explore your field as a researcher. You search for related studies and literature that are useful for your quest and at the same time you gather the necessary data that will help you answer your leading question. This is a PDF document (title page + maximum of 5 pages) that contains the following elements:
- Title
- Introduction to the topic of your research (expanded)
- Your research question: what question lead your inquiry? What answers did you find? how did you answer it?
- Setting/cooperation: how did the study week contributed to the development of your research project?
- Implications for your professional development
- Basic references (expanded)
- Your creative product (60%): the finished digital output that you developed along the course (website, video production, eBook, etc.). This product will be presented to the group. We will have a meeting with all course participants (see important dates) to watch the different outputs and discuss your research process.
