About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Shifan Du, and I was born and raised in China.

I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Victoria, and my major was Linguistics. I am now an MEd student at OISE/University of Toronto, and my program is Curriculum & Pedagogy.

Currently, I am also working as an ISE peer support assistant in the Centre for International Experience (CIE) at the University of Toronto. As an international student, I have experienced the difficulties of studying in another country that has a completely different culture. My job helps me gain a deeper understanding of how international students feel and what problems they encounter as well.

Therefore, I decided to develop this website and talk about stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, and racism. I wish international students would benefit from this website and know better how to protect themselves.
