A local dance group organises an annual Theatre Trip in a different city in the UK. We were once again able to support some young people to be able to attend the trip, without our support this aspirational visit with like minded peers would not have been possible.
Sometimes feeling a million dollars can be tough when you know you don't have what your peers have. We were delighted to be able to support a young man with footwear for school, leisure and football giving a boost to his confidence and helping him to take positive steps forward.
After a traumatic experience we helped a young person to renew, refresh and leave aspects of the past behind by funding new clothing. This tiny gesture was the start of a long, difficult journey but we were pleased we could help to begin that important process.
The theatre should not be reserved for the wealthy, we recognise the value of the arts and so was pleased to fund two places for two young people to attend a production of A Christmas Carol to support with their studies and give them the opportunity to experience live theatre.
Young children at a local nursery love outdoor play, many didn’t have their own waterproofs so Promising Futures stepped in to ensure that this was not a barrier to outdoor learning and funded a supply of waterproof clothing.
A local 6th Form Student had what it takes to apply for Oxford/Cambridge but was unsure of taking the big step to apply. Promising Futures funded transport for the 6th former to visit the cities and experience them for herself resulting in her putting an application in to these prestigious universities
After witnessing distressing incidents a young person required professional intervention. After the child's key worker reached out to us we funded a course of talking therapies which helped this individual to begin to rebuild his life and get back on track. We received some excellent feedback and gained a real insight into the value of such services which we would love to be able to fund again.
Two talented Year 6 children were accessing much of what Castle Vale had to offer where performing arts was concerned and needed an opportunity to experience what the wider world had to offer and so were funded for summer school placements with a local youth theatre
During the Covid-19 Pandemic we were approached to support families with no access to internet by providing an 'offline' pack of stationary and activities in partnership with other Castle Vale organisations we were able to support scores of local children.
After years of hard work at a young lady had found herself in difficult times and was unable to afford her School Prom. Promising Futures was able to ensure that she attended, and looked the part in her brand new prom dress. Without your support and the existence of this charity this would not have happened.
A local family had been through difficult times with their new born which meant their oldest son who was at nursery went from the excitement of having a sibling to being without his parents for a prolonged period as they were regularly at hospital. Promising Futures was able to provide a voucher for a local toy shop to put a plaster on the situation and give the young lad something to smile about.
A local football team found themselves without a coach and therefore were ill prepared for the upcoming season. Promising Futures sourced footballs, bibs, cones and other items to kickstart their season and ensure the young people didn’t miss out.
A local dance group organises trips and visits for its members which aim to inspire widen horizons. Two dedicated young ladies were likely to be unable to attend due to financial difficulties. Your donations made sure that these young people were able to attend and as a result they have been able to bring back some of the skills they have gained and put them to good use in Castle Vale.
