One of the most cherished and well-attended events in our community returns this year: “Dì de Festa – Sardinian Folklore Festival,” a journey into the heart of Sardinian identity through traditional costumes, dances, songs, and stories of our land!

The events of the Pro Loco di Quartu's summer calendar continue with a cultural initiative that will satisfy both the mind, with the presentation of Italo Siddu's work, and the body, with an aperitif at the end of the event.

The Literary Aperitif meeting is dedicated to the presentation of the book "Sardi per le vie e le piazze di Quartu Sant'Elena", whose title speaks for itself. The event will also feature the presence of municipal institutions, cultural figures, and the graceful harp of Chiara Vittone.

The free admission event will take place on July 19, 2024, at the Ex Carabinieri Barracks in Via Roma, 30 in Quartu Sant'Elena. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Also returning this year are the two events that in their first editions were widely appreciated by everyone who experienced them live and also through Sardegna Live: Dì de Festa and Sagra del Maialetto. In this version, however, the two events will be combined together in the same period to make sure nothing is missing: the tradition of the Campidanese festival with traditional costumes and the tasting of the typical meat dish of our region, the Sardinian suckling pig.

40° Scout a Quartu

The Pro Loco of Quartu Sant'Elena is pleased to celebrate with the large and very young scout group of Quartu the fortieth edition of the event dedicated to the scouts of our city. The Pro Loco group will be present with its stand-kiosk to refresh all attendees of the event. We look forward to seeing many of you!

Monumenti Aperti XXVIII Edizione

As every year, also this one, the Pro Loco made itself available for the important cultural event of "Monumenti Aperti", during which the group of the association was present to the sites of the Church of San Pietro di Ponte in the cemetery of Quartu and the precious semi-submerged Roman villa of Sant'Andrea near the Parco Parodi.

Event in collaboration with Exmè & Affini, Fondazione Domus De Luna as part of the Social Cohesion Projects of Social Policies. A parade with the participation of Is Tiaulus and Schools.

Departure at 10:30 am with the following route:

Via Porcu - Piazza XXVIII aprile - Via Porcu - Via Regina Margherita - Via Dante - Via Cagliari - Parco Matteotti.

Upon arrival, there will be Zeppole for all children present.

 The event will take place walking from Sa Dom'e Farra to the Christmas Village in Parco Matteotti, where the Three Wise Men and the Befana will meet the Holy Family and where sweets will be distributed as a gift for the little ones. At the end of the event, Nicola Agus will delight the audience with sounds from the Sardinian tradition.

As every year, the Pro Loco is pleased to award the title of "Quartese of the Year" to a citizen of Quartu who has distinguished themselves through their activities and love for their city. Following this, there will be a presentation of the historical-artistic calendar created annually by the Pro Loco. The two events, sponsored by the Municipality of Quartu Sant'Elena, will take place in the prestigious Council Chamber of the Municipality at its institutional headquarters.

Registrations are open until December 5, 2023 << A photo of the shop window will be taken for each participating business. All shop window photos will be entered into "competition" on the official Facebook page of the Association. The winning shop window will be the one with the most likes. Dì de festa - Rassegna folkloristica sarda (1° Edizione)

23 Luglio 2023 - Parco Parodi - Flumini di Quartu Sant'elena - ore 20:00

After much work, here we are ready with "Dì De Festa," scheduled for July 23, 2023, at Parco Parodi. It is a folk festival that will bring to the square the roots of our culture and regional tradition. It's a "journey" through different types of traditional clothing that will allow us to discover the customs and traditions of the many realities present in Sardinia. There will be a representation of over 20 municipalities, a polyphonic choir, and a musical accompaniment all "made" in Quartu Sant'Elena with Michele Deiana and Lorenzo Denotti.

The event will be broadcasted live on Sardegna Live! The evening will be hosted by Giuliano Marongiu!

It was March 2020 when, unaware of the pandemic restrictions we were about to face, the "last" Crannovali Cuartesu took place in Quartu. The desire to celebrate has returned, and for this reason, we await you in large numbers, colorful and full of joy.

PROGRAM

• Martedì Grasso (Fat Tuesday) - February 21st, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Teatro Circo Maccus. Parade along Via Colombo with jugglers, stilt walkers, and fire breathers. Grand finale in Piazza Santa Maria di Cepola with masks from the Commedia dell'arte by Virginia Viviano. Followed by children's fair games, aerial acrobatics, and fire performances.

• Saturday, February 25th - GRAND PARADE at 3:30 PM. Gathering of groups, floats, and masks - Via Cecoslovacchia. 4:30 PM. Start of the parade. Route: Via Cecoslovacchia - Via Polonia - Via Fiume - Via L. Merello - Via Sicilia - Via A. Diaz - Via Marconi - Via Eligio Porcu - Piazza XXVIII Aprile.

The following will participate in the parade: Disco Music 70/80 Float; Tuvumannu Ratantina Casteddaia Association; Sant'Andrea Gonnesa Association with the mask "Sa Gattu"; Martis de Agoa from Maracalagonis; Sbandieratori Quartiere Fontana from Iglesias; I Bois de Scalepranu; Oratorio Parrocchia Sant'Antonio; Via Cimabue Primary and Nursery School; Via Tiziano Middle School. 6:00 PM. Piazza XXVIII Aprile. Zeppolata (traditional Carnival sweet) offered by the Pro Loco Association.

DjSet and Discomusic with Djs Simonluca and NicoM will make the entire square dance.

It was a challenge, a trial, a test. We enjoy putting ourselves to the test, and the result was more than positive. Despite the postponement due to rain on January 17th, the cold weather, and the small or big adjustments that will surely help us improve for future editions, it was a great success for us. For the 26th Christmas Miracle, the citizens of Quartu have outdone themselves. A record collection of over 250 quintals of long-lasting goods was achieved. A huge thank you goes to the Cultural Recreational Association "Sette Note e più" for their tremendous dedication and support. Thanks to the some Volunteer Associations, the Scout Group Quartu 1, the Vincentian Conferences, and all the citizens of Quartu.
