Expedition to Salto Caveiras and Coxilha Rica
These are highlands covered with grasslands intermingled with subtropical (near temperate) forests. Our focal species are the threatened puma, the maned-wolf and the pampas deer.
Daily schedule:
1o day - Arrival at camp by the end of the morning, lunch following. Preliminary information given and start field work with short walks in the surrounding forests of Salto do Caveiras.
2o - 5o day - Field assessments along the Salto Caveiras and Coxilha Rica, focusing on the presence of maned-wolf, pampas deer and livestock attacks by pumas.
6o day- Preparations for return in the morning.
Meetings will be held by the end of the day to sumarize all information collected.
