Financial Clarity Award

The Financial Clarity Award is in recognition of any soccer organization (governing body, league or club) that posts online for public view:

1. Independent auditors report no older than 24 months

2. Annual line item break down of fees charged to members for services rendered.

Once upon a time, soccer was one of the most affordable kids sports and a major reason for its meteoric rise in popularity, propelling it past hockey as the most played youth sport in Canada. Unfortunately those days of affordability are gone and it is quickly becoming a sport for the affluent. Rising participation costs have dramatically outpaced national inflation over the past couple of decades and questions about value for services rendered are both justified and on the rise.

We believe it is important that stakeholders are able to understand where their fees are going and why. Financial transparency helps build trust, competition, makes organizations accountable, prevents run-away hidden costs and all of this helps #growthegame.
