You are now ready to work on your own new or existing programs of learning. Take a topic that you will be teaching and for that subject review:
Framework document
Achievement Standards
Course document
Unit Specific Goals
Unit Content Descriptions
Using the template provided (which can be downloaded), work on some elaborations and the pedagogy you will use in the classroom with a specific cohort of students. Remember the process:
Consider the end point/ enduring understandings required from the course – essential questions, assessment points (McTighe & Wiggins)
Consider General Capabilities/ Cross-Curricular Priorities
Write elaborations from unit content descriptions
Consider the range of activities available and the nature of the class who will be studying the unit (if known – use assessment data, formative and summative, to inform decisions)
Match teaching activities to the content descriptions/ elaborations/ student needs highlighting the link
Consider the assessment opportunities you will provide and how you will build student capacity for these assessment opportunities
It is recommended that elaborations and programs of learning are developed within a faculty, collaboratively.
Once you have worked on a new or existing program of learning, submit your reflection.
Now complete the activity by submitting your reflection here: REFLECTION. Don't forget to press submit when you have finished.
