This project is about learning and presenting an emerging technology, showing how it works, why it's important, and what challenges it might have.
I picked this technology because I find it really interesting how it could call balls and strikes and expect it to be 100% coorrect every time.
Some experimental robotic umpire systems can track the spin, speed, and movement of every pitch in real time, giving teams data they could use to improve player performance and strategy.
This is my favorite slide. When this has been brought up in the baseball world the first thing people ask is why do we need that?

The robotic umpires can make baseball more and more consistent by removing human mistakes from ball and strike calls. This technology could change how players pitch and hit because the strike zone is always the same. Umpires roles might also chnage, since technology will assist them instead of fully replacing them. Even though it improves accuracy, it raises questions about how much technology should be used in sports. Overall, robotic umpires show how technology can make games better but also bring new challenges.
