The lab primarily focuses on fundamental studies on tumor microenvironment (TME) heterogeneity and dissects the molecular mechanism by which both tumor and stromal derived osteopontin (OPN) in TME regulates tumor growth and metastatic potential of breast and other cancers.

KIIT R & D Director Prof. Gopal Chandra Kundu has been elected as a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in 2023.
