Our research group at KIIT is dedicated to unraveling the intricacies of the Tumor microenvironment.
We are particularly interested in how various players within the TME regulates tumor events and contributes to therapy escape.
Understanding the complex cellular networks and identifying core regulatory transcription factors that regulates tumor progression and metastasis by using CRISPR technology in various cancers is central to our research.
By using our expertise, we will establish breast, prostate, skin, gall bladder and head and neck oral cancer specific Patient Derived Xenograft (PDX) models, primary cultures and cell lines from patients and PDX models and identify potential therapeutic targets and therapeutically relevant biomarkers from cell lines, PDX and patients’ specimens using genomics and proteomics approaches for the effective targeting of cancer cells and screening of new drugs, repurposing of drugs using PDX models.
Our long-term objective is to translate our fundamental research findings into clinical applications, bridging the gap between basic science and clinical practice.
