Process Community Leader

Kyle Humphres

Raised as a fundamentalist Christian, I was unable to understand or accept the lack of intellectual clarity found in theism and supernaturalism, I was driven to be an Atheist and naturalist which lasted seven years. I have now come back from my journey with a profound vision as a Religious Naturalist. A religious attitude towards nature. I am very passionate about resolving the conflict between Science and Religion. After many years of academic study I have discovered a worldview which creatively integrates all theories into a beautiful coherent framework which is also pragmatic. My passion is to turn this vision, this new understanding of science, philosophy and theology into practice by starting a community to inspire all to unite under a common commitment in order to creatively transform themselves and the world.

“Science investigates; religion interprets. Science gives man knowledge which is power; religion gives man wisdom which is control. Science deals mainly with facts; religion deals mainly with values. The two are not rivals. They are complementary. Science keeps religion from sinking into the valley of crippling irrationalism and paralyzing obscurantism. Religion prevents science from falling into the marsh of obsolete materialism and moral nihilism.” - Martin Luther King Jr.
