Selected student comments - Bryn Mawr College
"Dr. Mukherjee is clearly very well-researched on his topic and is very enthusiastic about it. The content is very interesting, and I feel like I have learned a lot and have gained a lot of new skills." (Intro to Behavioral Economics)
"I felt that the professor's expectations for what we should know were made quite clear. I also liked how he provided a lot of practice through quizzes and homework. I also thought that he made the class fun by having us occasionally play games." (Intro to Economics)
"Mukherjee was able to answer questions well and walk through problems in a detailed way. Having worksheets for most classes was helpful, and the review sessions at the end were also very useful." (Intro to International Economics)
"Mukherjee is always willing to answer our questions and cater to our needs as students. He promoted a social atmosphere where students felt like they could rely on their classmates as well as him." (Intro to Economics)
"He is very engaging and fosters a classroom where students are comfortable asking questions and creating class discussions. He is very kind and helpful when asked questions individually or in office hours. He can move a little fast, but he makes sure that the class is reminded that we can ask him to slow down. There is always room in class for questions and discussions while also finishing the class lecture." (Public Finance)
"Mukherjee is super knowledgeable about economics and even though it is an intro level class he still spoke to certain nuances, which I found super vauable. I think he did a good job helping students to build an intuitive and conceptual understanding of the material rather than simply memorizing the rules and equations. Essentially he taught us the foundations in a way that leaves room for more critical analysis and interpretations in the future, which i really appreciate." (Intro to Economics)
"He understands the needs of his students and offers help accordingly. His style of teaching is very practical and fun." (Game Theory and Applications)
Professor Mukherjee is really thoughtful about the content he delivers in this course! When people don't understand a concept, he'll think of a different way to explain it or work with an example until they do. Classes are enjoyable and he fosters community among students but still covers a lot of content. (Intro to International Economics)
"I think Dr. Mukherjee creates an environment where students are not hesitant to ask questions either during the class or even outside of class. He is very responsive to questions asked regarding homeworks and assignments while also being open to office hours. He also keeps up with students with they are learning during the class and if there are any gaps in their conceptual learning." (Public Finance)
"I think it's one of my favorite economics classes that I've taken. Professor Mukherjee does a good job of running group activities to uncover topics that we cover in class and showing how they work." (Intro to Behavioral Economics)
