Hi, I am Prithvijit (pronounced PRITH-vee-jeet), a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bryn Mawr College in the Department of Economics and International Studies.

I am an applied microeconomist studying how social and institutional environments shape beliefs, decisions, and responses to policy. My research examines how information, social structures, and institutions influence individual and collective behavior, with applications to immigration policy, health, political economy, and public economics. I combine causal inference, surveys, and laboratory and online experiments to identify the mechanisms through which these environments shape behavior and policy outcomes. My work has been published in Political Behavior and Public Choice.

In the classroom, I emphasize interactive, student-centered learning that connects economic theory to real-world contexts and students’ lived experiences.

I received my Ph.D. from Georgia State University and have previously taught at Mount Holyoke College and Georgia State University.
