Varsity Lettering Policy
Letter requirements
There are three parts which players must complete in order to earn a varsity letter for football. These three requirements are as follows:
Academically:
A Laker Football Letterman will…
1. Represent himself and the football program with class in all school related activities.
2. Attend and be on time to all classes
3. Work to his ability level in all classes. Maintain good academic standards and in compliance with Prior Lake High School’s academic policy
4. Make his education a priority at all times
Academic guidelines
It is the athlete’s responsibility to be informed of these guidelines through the eligibility instructions for athletes as is provided by the activities office.
Citizenship:
A Laker Football Letterman will…
1. Show support for PLHS during the season and throughout the year attending other activities
2. Assist with our scheduled youth P.L.A.Y. football practices
3. Assist at ONE P.L.A.Y. Football game and TWO Practices
4. **Assist with our Summer Youth Football Camp**
5. Participation in the Team community service project
6. Represent himself with class and dignity in the community
7. Remain chemically free and support others in the endeavor
8. Participate in Team Fundraiser – In order for us to be a First Class Program, it is necessary to have ALL members of the program participate. Ex. Cookie Dough
9. Always remember you are representing Prior Lake High School and The football program. Treat coaches, officials, managers, and spectators with respect.
Being part of a quality program is a huge commitment and puts a lot of responsibility of the player involved. Not only are athletes expected to show positive traits on the field, but off the field as well. As a part of this football program, athletes will be expected to be leaders in our school setting as well as in the community.

Athletically:
A Laker Football Letterman will…
1. Participate in our weight training program when not involved in another sport and summer Ironman testing for grades 10 – 12th.
2. Played in at least 12 quarters of the varsity game throughout the season
3. Have no unexcused absences from practices and meetings
4. No chemical violations during the season
Alcohol, Chemical, and Tobacco Violations
The Prior Lake Football Program will be in accordance with all Minnesota State High School League Rules when dealing with any chemical violations

***All Varsity Players will Letter for a Team that qualifies for the State Tournament***
Varsity Lettering Requirements
Total Number of Quarters (12 to letter)
Assist with P.L.A.Y. Practice
Assist with ONE P.L.A.Y. Game and TWO practices
Participates in Community Service project
Assistance with Prior Lake Youth Football Camp
No un-excused absences during the season
No Chemical violations during the season
Good academic standing
Participates in Team Fundraiser
