Weight Room Expectations
Weight training is a positive lifestyle choice and the earlier a player commits to weight training, the more success they will have as an athlete. Weight training takes a year round commitment, whether an athlete is in-season or off-season. Football is a physical war and the harder an athlete trains, the better chance of success they will have. We play in one of the most physical conference’s and for us to be successful, we need to be stronger and faster then our opponents. This is accomplished by a commitment from our players to put the time into training and take advantage of every opportunity to make them better. Our coaching staff is committed to our players and will be available year-round to work with committed athletes. There is no substitute for hard work and players willing to put the time in will reap the benefits.
· First and foremost, we encourage all our football players to be involved in other sports as there is no substitute for being part of a team and exposure to competitive situations.
· Players not participating in off-season sports and all players in the summer are expected to be a part of our strength training program.
· Players will follow our training program which includes, strength training, as well as speed and agility sessions.
· Players should “set the tone” for the weight room, it’s all about being INTENSE.
"CULTURE IS NOT BUILT IN ISOLATION"
***Players are encouraged to train in Prior Lake’s weight room with their Teammates and their Coaches. Training together builds a TEAM atmosphere and coaches are always available for guidance and motivation***
***The earlier an athlete realizes the importance of training and investing the time to become a better athlete, the more success and opportunity they will have. An emphasis on an athletes training will only enhance their experience in High School athletics and open doors to play at the college level.***
