At Dominican University, I am pursuing a degree in Nursing, along with minors in Leadership Studies and Clinical and Counseling Sciences. I chose Dominican because of its esteemed nursing program and the supportive, tight-knit community. The small class sizes are particularly beneficial for me, as they foster participation and make it easier to build connections. Additionally, this environment allows students to develop more personal relationships with their professors, enhancing the overall learning experience.
During my first year at Dominican, I completed two Service Learning courses with Women Helping All People, specifically at their Finders Keepers Shop. This experience allowed me to interact with individuals facing hardship and assist them in finding essential items like clothing, household goods, and food. Volunteering there provided me with a new perspective on daily life for those in need and deepened my understanding of the complex issues surrounding housing and homelessness.
