Career Competencies

Career & Development

1. I have experience in career & development by being a peer mentor at school. With being a peer mentor, it allows me to attack life better prepared. It prepares me for my future profession and helps me figure out my strengths and weaknesses.

Communication

1. I have experience in communication by asking appropriate questions, making eye contact, and demonstrating proper body language. I have also reached out to professors and supervisors in a mannerly way when needed.

Critical Thinking

1. I have gained experience with critical thinking by multitasking during events in student government. I have also been able to pull different sources and analyze information to better cater the kinds of problems I am faced with.

Equity & Inclusion

1. I have gained experience with equity and inclusion by volunteering at the Finders Keepers Shop in the Golden Gate Village of Marin. This shop was catered to help the low income and homeless community of Marin.

Leadership

1. I have experienced being in a leadership role in school and outside of school. At school, I was part of student government, which allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. Outside of of school, I was a youth leader at my church. I led freshmen during different activities to help them understand their faith.

Professionalism

1. I have experienced professionalism by working for the past three years. I have always been on time and prepared to take on the task at hand.

Teamwork

1. I gained teamwork experience through working in many groups throughout highschool and college. As a team member, I would ask for different opinions and have us meet in the middle. I also made sure that everyone's ideas were heard and understood.

Technology

1. I gained experience in technology through presentations and playing around with Google Docs. I have also gotten more comfortable with technology due to COVID.
