Community Moderation are expected to embody the procedures instructed to them within the Discord Moderator Academy (“DMA”) while also upholding various internal policies and a strict code of conduct to ensure all actions taken by moderation staff are non-bias, perpetrated in the interest of the wider community and are not prompted by any form of external influence.
All Community Moderation staff are bound by the server rules, Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines; no exemption is offered;
1.1 > Failure to uphold the principles defined in the Server Rules is a severe offense.
2.2 > Moderators must uphold it to its fullest extent.
All moderators are to function with a level of diligence in all forums, especially those of a public nature, including external servers;
2.1 > Moderation Staff are expected to actively promote the rules and engage with the community on a regular basis, you are a representative of the staff and the fact of a civil authority for the entire group - uphold that position with pride.
2.2 > You also function as community engagement staff. Welcome all new members and ensure they are acquainted, made to feel comfortable and answer any questions.
2.3 > Actively engage in conversion in a peacekeeping, impartial manner.
2.4 > Your conduct in other communities may reflect directly on SCP-F | Paragon Research Institute at a public level. Do not boast of your position in other forums and do not violate other communities rules; your misconduct in other servers will reflect on the entire team.
Community Moderators nature as a civil authority only extends to our public communications servers, and therefore should respect the jurisdiction of other entities, departments and services and refer cases where necessary;
3.1 > Moderators may not act outside of their jurisdiction and should refer all cases where necessary;
3.2 > All cases that violate Discord Terms of Service must be referred to the Discord Trust & Safety Team, via email or the integrated reports system;
3.3 > Users who require assistance with Discord server appeals should be forwarded to: https://dyno.gg/form/c17f839b;
3.4 > All cases of leakage must be reported to the Audit and Accountability Committee.
Assuming responsibility and representing moderation are subcomponents of the Moderation Ethos and should be upheld as core values;
4.1 > Users who violate any component of the server rules, code of conduct or any other established policy are expected to fully admit to such and take the proper measures to amend their actions.
4.2 > Moderation Staff should know when to remove themselves from a working environment; you should not be communicating in official forums if you are in an emotional state or under the influence.
4.3 > Any action taken on any user's account, whether they are moderation staff or a community member, should be considered as their own and acted upon accordingly - you are responsible for the integrity of your own account.
Personal development and welfare should be at the forefront of all actions taken by you;
5.1 > All moderators are entitled to a Leave of Absence and may end their employment at any time, filed in the correct channels.LoAs must not be longer than 2 weeks. An LoA which is longer requires permission.
5.2 > You are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all technical and automated systems employed by our staff before beginning your duties.
Moderation staff are expected to maintain maturity and impartiality when dealing with all reports or violations;
6.1 > If a moderator believes they are unable to be impartial, due to dealing with a conflict of interest, they must forward the report on to another staff member.
Moderation Staff are expected to promptly respond to all threats;
7.1 > Threats are defined as major rule violations;
7.2 > Moderators who are online and actively communicating in Paragon related servers and do not respond can be punished.
Moderation Staff are expected to be cognizant of all platform’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines;
8.1 > Moderation Staff are expected to use these regulations as guidance when issuing punishments;

Senior Moderation will regularly audit Moderators; if a moderator has violated the Code of Conduct, they will be punished accordingly.
