Synopsis
Seventeen-year-old Loran Cehack is a member of the Moonrace, a technologically advanced society living on the Moon that intends to return to a regressed, pre-industrial Earth. Sent as a scout to the Ameria continent, Loran integrates into Earth society, becoming close with the wealthy Heim family—specifically the spirited Dianna Soreil look-alike, Kihel Heim. His peaceful life is shattered when the Moonrace’s military, the Dianna Counter, begins an armed invasion. During the chaos, an ancient white statue known as the "White Doll" cracks open to reveal a powerful mechanical giant: the ∀ Gundam. Loran, who loves both his lunar heritage and his new home on Earth, finds himself piloting the machine to mediate the conflict. As he navigates the dual efforts to secure a peaceful migration and stop the escalating war, he forms deep bonds with the people of Earth while uncovering the terrifying "Dark History" of the world's past.
∀ Gundam is a 1999 television anime produced by Fuji TV and Sotsu and animated by the legendary Studio Sunrise (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass). The show was directed by the franchise creator Yoshiyuki Tomino (Mobile Suit Gundam, Overman King Gainer). The scripts were written by a talented team led by Hiroyuki Hoshiyama (Dirty Pair, Armor Hunter Mellowlink). Original character designs were provided by Akira Yasuda (better known as Akiman, famous for Street Fighter II and Code Geass). Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) handled the sweeping, orchestral music composition.
