William Ruszkowski is a Sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis from Long Beach, Indiana pursuing a double major in Philosophy Neuroscience Psychology with a Neuroscience concentration and Anthropology on the pre-med track. He is a member of the varsity cross country and track teams and is interested in how health, cognition, and behavior intersect.
He is involved with the WashU Emergency Support Team, where he is an EMT responding to on-campus medical emergencies, and participates in neuroscience research focused on μ-opioid receptors and their role in behavior and metabolism. These experiences have shaped his interest in understanding how biological systems influence everyday health and decision-making.
Outside of academics, William is a co-founder of Bear Cuts, an on-campus barbershop that aims to provide an accessible and community-oriented service for students. He is interested in pursuing a career in medicine while integrating other passion pursuits that he plans to fit together in his future career.
