Latest publication !

The final work of my PhD thesis titled "Gas Sensing Properties of PLD Grown 2D SnS Film: Effect of Film Thickness, Metal Nanoparticle Decoration, and In Situ KPFM Investigation" has been published in Small.

This work is focused on novel growth methodologies and surface sensitization with metal nanoparticles to enhance and manipulate the gas-sensing behavior of two-dimensional (2D) SnS film. We employed In-situ KPFM techniques to comprehend the role of metal nanoparticles on the gas-sensing properties of SnS film

 Thesis defended !

Finally defended my thesis work in  a public presentation at IIT, Delhi. It was a great experience to present the entire work of last 5 years. I will remember my PhD journey as not only about the acquisition of specialized knowledge or the development of critical thinking skills, but also the value of perseverance, resilience and soft skills in the face of multiple challenges.

At last learning is a lifelong journey and the pursuit of knowledge is endless. Hence, its a new beginning to my scientific endeavors. Hoping for the more scientifically challenging tasks ahead!

 Latest publication !

Our recent work lead by Ms. Pallavi Aggarwal and titled "Centimeter-Scale Synthesis of Monolayer WS2 Using Single-Zone Atmospheric-Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition: A Detailed Study of Parametric Dependence, Growth Mechanism, and Photodetector Properties" has been published in ACS Applied Nano Materials.

This work was focused on the effect of gamma ray irradiation on the surface properties of monolayer WS2 thin film. I contributed in synthesis and characterization of the as grown and irradiated monolayer WS2 film.

Thesis submitted

I recently summitted my Thesis titled "Synthesis, structural, gas sensing and In-situ XPS/ KPFM investigation of PLD grown 2D materials based nanostructures" . It was an exhausting task to compile and format. Looking forward for the final defense and a new postdoc position!

Pre-PhD seminar

I recently presented my Pre-PhD presentation on the topic "Synthesis, structural, gas sensing, In-situ XPS and KPFM investigation of PLD grown 2D materials based nanostructures" . It was nice discussion with a quick round of Q&A by the evaluation committee. I would like to express my gratitude to my supervisor Prof. B.R. Mehta for giving me the opportunity to work under his guidance. This takes me one step closer to defend my thesis work.

Paper accepted !

Our recent work titled "Tailoring the Vertical and Planar Growth of 2D WS2 Thin Films Using Pulsed Laser Deposition for Enhanced Gas Sensing Properties" has been published in ACS Applied material and interfaces.

This work is focused on synthesis of orientation controlled synthesis of 2D WS2 thin film followed by studying the gas sensing properties of as grown films.

AFM installation and training

We have recently included an AFM (Atomic force microscope) in our lab !

It's a Bruker dimension ICON'XR with a glove box from M'BRAUN. It has some of the advanced modes like KPFM, CAFM, SThM, STM and Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM).  Getting trained on the system for our future experiments.
