Khushboo Ahire
Khushboo is a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Population, Health, and Development in the School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
She is a mixed-methods researcher with over ten years of extensive experience in conducting social studies, implementing development initiatives and teaching. She coordinated the community engagement study from India and was awarded a Knowledge and Innovation Research Fellowship at Swansea University, UK and TISS Mumbai collaborated project. The project was instrumental in building ‘Solar Oasis’ which is India’s first-of-a-kind functionalized active building that uses solar power to generate, store, and release energy to be shared by the community located in Khuded village in rural Maharashtra. Previously, she has also worked with and contributed to the impact research, policy and programmatic reports for various universities, government and non-government organizations like the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Southampton University, HelpAge India, JSW Steel and Tata Power. Her research interests mainly include- Gerontology, Community Participation for Inclusive Development, Environment and Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, ESG, Climate Change, and Gender. She has participated in various national and international conferences, workshops and seminars focusing on various social issues. She has to her credit, publications in the areas of renewable energy transitions, climate change and air pollution, well-being of the elderly, and social impacts of CSR projects as journal articles and book chapters. As a Director Research, she serves as a support system for scholars, researchers, students, and professionals from diverse disciplines to engage in meaningful exchanges, share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and advance the frontiers of human understanding.
