Tumbles and falls are a significant cause of health emergencies among seniors, particularly those living alone. Quick medical aid is essential after a fall to mitigate further harm. To address this issue, innovative systems utilizing webcams for surveillance have been created, but their high cost and limitation to indoor use pose challenges. Many turn to market-available devices that function as wrist-worn emergency transmitters; however, these can limit mobility and often trigger unwarranted alarms due to their sensitivity to regular movement. Our project introduces an efficient and trustworthy fall detection system that sidesteps these drawbacks. By harnessing the power of accelerometers and gyroscopes, our system adeptly spots the acceleration and change in the angle of a person's body when they fall, instantly notifying family or friends for swift assistance. This breakthrough is not only cost-effective but also grants peace of mind and enhanced safety for our cherished elders.
