Making New Generation of Electrochemical Sensors
Welcome to Dr. Pumidech (Max) Puthongkham's research group (MaxLab). Our research program seeks to devise better electrochemical sensors for food and environmental analysis and medical diagnosis through the investigation of electrochemistry at laser-induced graphene and carbon electrodes, development of advanced electrode materials, and applications of machine learning and experimental design.
Oct 2025: We have received a confirmation of the Fundamental Fund 2025-26 (THB1,000,000) on electrochemical sensor for food contaminants.
Sep 2025: Welcome Lara Hoffman from Germany as a visiting internship student.
Aug 2025: We welcome Marissa as a BSAC Applied Chemistry Project student, and Best continued his PhD program with our group.
July 2025: Max received the University-Wide Outstanding Young Investigator Award in Sciences and Technology, Chulalongkorn University.
May 2025: Best earned the outstanding presentation award for the Department Senior Project exhibition this year. He also participated in the Hitachi Trophy Senior Project Competition, organized by the Faculty of Science.
May 2025: Max received the Outstanding Young Investigator Award in Physical Sciences and Mathematics from Faculty of Science.
Apr 2025: A new review article on Laser-Induced Graphene Microfluidics Sensor with Dr. Nadnudda Rodthongkum has just been published.
Feb 2025: Paper from Somchun's work on the hydrogel-modified electrode for Cd2+ and Ni2+ detection has just been accepted in Microchemical Journal. Congrats!
Jan 2025: Max and Pop will join Pittcon 2025 in Boston. Max will give a talk on laser-induced graphene electrode. Pop will give a poster presentation based on its applcation for pesticide detection.
