Making New Generation of Electrochemical Sensors
Making New Generation of Electrochemical Sensors
Welcome to Dr. Pumidech (Max) Puthongkham's research group (MaxLab). Our research program seeks to devise better electrochemical sensors for food and environmental analysis and medical diagnosis through the investigation of electrochemistry at laser-induced graphene and carbon electrodes, development of advanced electrode materials, and applications of machine learning and experimental design.
Note: We are at the full capacity right now, so I cannot take more graduate students or Postdoc at the moment.
June 2026: Congratulations to Ploy for the successful M.Sc. thesis defense.
May 2026: Parn's work on the bismuth nanoplatelet-modified laser-induced graphene electrode has just been published in Microchemical Journal.
May 2026: Congratulations to Parn for the successful M.Sc. thesis defense.
Feb 2026: The work on carbofuran electrochemical sensor from laser-fabricated carbon quantum dot/laser-induced graphene electrode by Pop, a PhD candidate, has just been published in Sensors and Actuators B.
Dec 2025: Max received the University-Wide Teaching Award for Young Faculty Members.
Nov 2025: Our paper on Hepatitis B Electrochemical Sensor based on Laser-Induced Graphene has been just published in Bioelectrochemistry. Congratulations to Fon, my recent graduate who had worked on this.
Oct 2025: We have received a confirmation of the Fundamental Fund 2025-26 (THB1,000,000) on electrochemical sensor for food contaminants.
