Welcome to week 8 writers. This week you will be asked to write four short stories. We have given you pictures to help you come up with ideas for your characters, setting, problem and solution but your imagination is your own - let it guide you.
It would be awesome if you could include adjectives (describing words) and verbs (doing words) in your sentences too. If you get stuck, we have included some questions below the images for you. Happy writing little legends!
Monday
Kerplop! "Who's next?" asked Pirate Pete with a smirk.
Use your inferring skills to help you write a story about this pirate.
Who will be next to walk the plank?
What happened to the person who already walked the plank?
Tuesday
It was a sunny day in the forest. Little Mushy was relaxing with an interesting book.
What is Mushy reading about?
What does a mushroom do all day?
Will the weather change?
Who are Mushy's friends?
Help! Miss Smith is stuck inside a jar.
How did she get in there?
What will she do to get out?
Is she asking the parrots for help or were they the ones who put her in the jar?
These sheep got tired of sitting around in their paddock so they decided to take a tractor for a ride.
Where are they going?
Will they get caught?
Are they naughty sheep or very clever ones?
Term 3 - Week 7
Writing realistic fiction
Your fantastic imagination has helped you write stories that have events that never really happened. This week, we would like you to have a go at another kind of fiction writing.
Realistic fiction is less magic and fairy dust. These stories contain events that could have happened in real life, but didn’t. The main character is a real person, rather than a Pegasus or a wicked witch.
This is the first in a series of videos that will help you write a realistic fiction story
This video will help you with how to come up with some ideas for your story
Writing your introduction
What is the problem?
How your story ends.
When you finish writing, make sure you go over it before you publish
