Emory Douglas was the Minister of Culture for the BPP from 1967 until it disbanded in 1982. He created the party's official artwork, including the covers of its newspaper, The Black Panther. His artwork helped to share the message of the party, provoke thought, and create publicity for the organization. Below is a sampling of his work:
