Exhibit 8

Deus ex Conflictus

Background:

"Deus ex conflictus" in Latin means Gods of conflict. This design is the back of a vest. A friend of mind asked me to design a vest for their group that rides motorcycles. A member/mentor of the group is an expert in conflict and teaches at Utah State University. The chrysalis and the butterly is his logo for the effect of change that conflict that inspire.

Design:

  • Contrast of this design is based on the black background, which is a leather vest. Using colors of the logo I pulled them into the other text in the design.

  • The repetition of color from the image the to text helps makes it consistent.

  • Alignment is around the shape of the chrysalis and then changes some when the most important word "conflictus" is more central and aligned around the bottom of the logo and fits in with the "ex".

  • Proximity suggests that these are all important and relate to each other.
