Effective teaching begins with a good lesson plan. Rarely do you come across a teacher who does not have some form of lesson planning book or digital outline of what they are doing in their classroom. “It is a time when we envision the learning we want to occur and analyze how all the pieces of the learning experience should fit together to make that vision a classroom reality” (TESOL International Association, n.d.). In an online course, asynchronous learning occurs more than synchronous learning. Because of this, it becomes even more important to have an effective plan in place so things do not seem thrown together and unorganized. Most modules are put out weeks to months in advance creating a need for organization and planning, to assure that you hit all the standards required for that course.
