This professional development session focuses on designing high-quality, standards-aligned rubrics more efficiently using AI as a drafting partner. Participants explore why effective rubrics matter for clarifying expectations, improving feedback, and supporting historical thinking, while also addressing the common challenge of time-intensive rubric creation. The session demonstrates how AI tools can help teachers quickly generate consistent, student-friendly rubrics aligned to Virginia Standards of Learning and AP skills—without replacing professional judgment. By the end of the session, educators leave with a ready-to-use rubric they can immediately implement in their classroom.
This professional development session explores how pairing AI tools with EduProtocols can help teachers prep less while engaging students more. Participants learn how AI can serve as a drafting partner—quickly generating prompts, exemplars, and structured materials—while educators remain the experts who set rigor, align standards, and guide student thinking. The session highlights how repeatable EduProtocol lesson frames reduce cognitive load, maximize instructional time, and keep the focus on content and critical thinking. Teachers leave with practical strategies and ready-to-use examples that can be immediately applied in the classroom.
Special thanks to Jon Corippo and Marlena Hebern, the creators of EduProtocols, whose work provides the instructional foundation that makes this approach both effective and sustainable.
