 [Bob Harrison]

Bob Harrison graduated in Surveying from the University of NSW in 1973, and has spent his entire career working as a Registered Surveyor in NSW and Queensland. As the founding Director of Harrison Friedmann & Associates Pty Ltd.


Bob has served on a variety of professional bodies including the Boards of the Association of Consulting Surveyors, Institution of Surveyors NSW and BoSSI (Board of Surveying and Spatial Information NSW, (the regulatory body of surveyors in NSW).


Bob’s commitment to the surveying industry was recognised in him being awarded an Order of Australia for services to the Surveying profession in January 2017. Bob has also found time to be actively involved in the community as a Life Member of Apex, Member of St Vincent de Paul Sydney Central Council and for fun he is a Director of the Vintage and Veterans Chev

Association of Australia.

[Steven Griffiths ]

Steven  Griffiths is a partner at Bartier Perry 

Steven also works with the firm’s property lawyers on general land and property matters and advises local government authorities, State authorities and private sector clients on a wide range of environment, planning and local government law. This includes commencing legal proceedings and representing clients in various Courts and Tribunals.


As well as being a lawyer, Steven is also an experienced town planner and prior to joining Bartier Perry, had a distinguished 12-year career as a town planner, consultant and manager in local government in NSW.

This background means Steven has a distinct insight into the workings of local government and the planning/development industry, which has proved to be invaluable to public and private sector clients alike.

[Gary Newton]

Gary Newton , a Partner at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, is an accredited specialist in property law since 1994 and has a built broad property practice since 1983. Gary advises on a variety of real estate transactions including retail leasing and commercial leasing, both for landlords and tenants, property acquisitions, property developments and sales including residential, commercial, retail and industrial, buying property in Australia, strata, community and neighbourhood title law, property joint ventures, due diligence, finance and structuring, partitions, environment and planning; and general property advice.

Gary is a member of the Law Society Property Law Committee and is the current NSW Chairman of the Australia Property Law Group of the Law Council of Australia, General Practice Section. 

Gary has been named in Best Lawyers™ Australia for Leasing Law and Real Property Law. Gary has also been recognised in the Recommended Tier of the ‘Leading Property & Real Estate Lawyers’ for the 2021 edition of Doyle’s Guide. [Tony Cahill]

Tony is a member of the Law Society’s Property Law Environmental, Planning and Development Committees. He has been a member of the Re‑Draft Committees for the editions of the Contract for the Sale of Land since 1992, and the editions of the Contract for the Sale of Business since 2000.

He was a co-author with Russell Cocks and Paul Gibney of the first NSW edition of 1001 Conveyancing Answers, and the co-author with Gary Newton of Conveyancing Service New South Wales and Annotated Conveyancing and Real Property Legislation New South Wales, both published by LexisNexis Butterworths.

Tony has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Technology, Sydney, in construction law, property transactions, legal studies, and real estate law, and has lectured at the Sydney and Northern Sydney Institutes of TAFE, the College of Law and the Law Extension Committee in various law subjects.
