Welcome to Porcupine Creek!
To help you enjoy your stay and to ensure your safety, we do have some guidelines.
Check in time: between 3 and 7 pm
Check out time: 11 am
Quiet time: 10 pm - 8 am
Appropriate conduct is expected at all times. Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of their children and pets.
Pets: Our pets are our kids; we know as we have a number of rescue animals. Well behaved, non-aggressive dogs are welcome at our campsites and the Owl's Nest Tent (2 max). We can discuss if you have more. We do not allow pets in our Tree House. Bring your pet bed and food/water bowls. Dogs will need to be on a leash/lead at all times and may not be left unattended. Please pick up your dogs waste; a garbage can is available at the shower house for disposal. We know dogs bark. If there are complaints about excessive barking or your dog being off leash, we will provide one warning. If the issue remains unresolved, you will be asked to leave. We will issue you a refund for the remaining days in your reservation minus the booking fee.
Campfires: We provide wood for campfires. Please do not burn wood you find on the ground. Maine prohibits the movement of wood between places as it spreads insect pests. Extinguish your fire before going to bed or leaving your site. State law requires that campfire flames be less than 1-2' high.
Based on local fire conditions, we reserve the right to restrict campfires.
Waste: There is both a garbage can and a recycling at the shower house. Please don't burn your garbage. We recycle cans & bottles that have the Maine recycling note on them. These are donated to support the local volunteer fire department.
Gray water: There is a sink located on the back side of the shower house for gray water disposal. Please make sure no solid materials or fat goes down the drain. Please do not pour gray water on the ground.
Trails: You are welcome to walk the property trails.
Visitors: Visitors are welcome but we need to know if you invite additional people onto our property. Please let Jeff or Cathy know if you are having guests.
Campground maintenance: We usually come over late morning to clean the shower house. Mowing and weed wacking are part of maintaining the property and we try to limit the noise to when you are least likely to be bothered.
Private Property: We have small equipment and a sawmill across from the shower house. Please respect this area as private as there is the potential for injury.
Miscellaneous: Please don't feed the wildlife. No pets. No ATV's or other off-road vehicles. No firearms or discharging of firearms. No fireworks. No paintball. Smoking outside of structures is allowed; please dispose of your cigarette butts properly!
