A suitable pet sitter will be assigned to your home based on availability and service type. We aim to select the sitter closest to you, provided they are available and can deliver the service you require.
Once assigned, we will share the pet sitter’s contact details with you, and your contact details with them, so that you can be in direct communication with the person caring for your pets.
Before the start of your pet-sitting period, a convenient time will be arranged for you to meet your assigned pet sitter and your pets. Meet and Greet can be for a time period of 30 - 60 minutes, as we understand that familiarising yourself with who will take care of your pets and property is of utmost importance to you. We do, however, charge R30 for every 15 minutes after 1 hour for the meet and greets - this is to protect the time of both parties.
Within this visit the sitter has the opportunity to:
Understand your pet’s specific needs and routine
Get familiar with your home
Collect any house keys or remote (if the key is not received upon the “Meet & Greet”, you are welcome to drop it off at the sitter's residence, or a travel fee will be incurred just for the pick up.)
Your pet’s feeding routine
Location of food
Portion sizes
Alarm systems or security codes
Doors or areas that may be difficult to access
Load-shedding precautions
WiFi access (for stay-ins)
Kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping facilities
Pet sitters bring their own meals and cater for themselves. You may leave food or snacks for the sitter at your discretion. Please lock away any personal possessions, and lock doors you do not want the sitter to have access to - this is to protect both parties.
Please provide the contact details of at least one other trusted person we can reach if we are unable to contact you during an emergency.
For your pet’s safety, please provide the name and contact details of the veterinary clinic your pet is registered with in Potchefstroom. This ensures we can respond quickly in case of illness or injury.
Additional Instructions: you may share other relevant information, such as:
Opening for gardening or cleaning services
Pets anxiety and safety with thunderstorm, or any other anxiety
Medical conditions or medications
Watering of plants
Minimal swimming pool maintenance (if required)
Removal of trash bins for pickup
