This can include providing a 15 to 30 seconds self-recorded video as video profile, a phone number or completing photo verification. Verification ensures the authenticity of accounts and protects against fraudulent activities.

Purchases and Payment Information
When you make purchases within the App, we collect and process payment data for fraud prevention and compliance with financial regulations.

Geolocation Data
If you grant Pookie access to your device’s location, we may collect location details to provide tailored features and recommendations.

Device Information
We may collect data about your device, including its unique identifier, model, and operating system, for optimization purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information
Our primary goal is to enhance your experience with Pookie Video Dating. We may use your information to:

To provide and maintain our Service, including monitoring the usage of our Service.
To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to You as a registered user.
For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services You have purchased or of any other contract with Us through the Service.
To contact You: To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as mobile application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.

We use both automated systems and human moderators to review accounts and content for compliance with our Terms of Use. Violations may lead to restricted or terminated accounts.

4. (a)Signing into Pookie App Using Social Media Accounts

When you sign into Dovia using your Google account or other social media account, you authorize these social media platforms to share specific details with us, such as your name and profile picture, unless you opt out, Google and other social media may also share additional information, including your email address (if linked to your account), date of birth, profile photos, gender, Page likes, and current location.

We use this data to create your Pookie Video Dating account. If you later remove the Pookie app from your social media account settings, we will no longer have access to data from these platforms. However, any personal information previously shared to set up your Pookie Video Dating account will remain with us unless you delete your account entirely.

(b) Password Security

Your password is a key to protecting your account and personal information, so it’s important to choose it wisely. Create a strong password using a combination of unique numbers, letters, and special characters, and never share it with anyone. Remember, if you share your password or personal details with others, you are responsible for any activity carried out under your account. Losing control of your password can lead to a loss of control over your personal information and could expose you to actions taken in your name that may have legal consequences. If you believe your password has been compromised, update it immediately through your profile on the App and notify us without delay at pookie4dating@gmail.com.

We employ reasonable administrative, physical, and electronic safeguards to protect the information we collect about you from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection for your data.

5. What Others May See About You

At Pookie, we believe our users are amazing, and we want you to showcase your best self to the world. To facilitate this, we’ve created features that make it easier for you to connect and interact with others.

When using the Pookie app, it’s important to understand that anything you post or share on the platform might be publicly visible and accessible, not only to other users of the app but also to non-users. Therefore, we urge you to think carefully before sharing information that could eventually become public.

Be mindful about including sensitive personal details in your profile, such as your religious beliefs or health information. While you may choose to provide this information, including details about your preferences or other personal matters, it’s entirely optional. Additionally, remember that the videos or photos you upload to Pookie might also reveal certain details about you. By sharing such sensitive information, you are explicitly consenting to our processing of this data and its availability to other users.

Your Pookie Video Dating profile and other details you share through the Pookie app, including content imported from third-party accounts like Google, Facebook or Instagram (refer to section 4 above for more information), can be viewed and shared by other users. For instance, a user might recommend you as a match to their friends by taking a screenshot of your profile and sharing it, regardless of whether those friends are also Pookie users.

In specific countries, such as South Korea, users have the option to download copies of their conversation history due to local regulations. Please note that Pookie has no control over how users might distribute or use this information after downloading it.

If you access Pookie through a Google account or another third-party platform on a shared device, ensure you log out of both the app and the third-party platform before leaving the device. This step helps prevent unauthorized access to your Pookie account by others who may use the same device.

6. Retention and Deletion of Your Personal Data

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary based on the legal grounds in accordance with applicable laws.

When your account is deleted, it will no longer be visible on the Pookie app. However, for up to 28 days, you have the option to restore your account if it was deleted accidentally. After this period, we initiate the process of permanently deleting your personal information from our systems, except in the following cases:

Legal Compliance:
We may retain your data to comply with legal obligations, such as maintaining records for tax and accounting purposes when purchases are made within the app.
Evidence of Legal Compliance:
If an account is blocked, we retain certain information about the account and the behavior that led to the block. This data is preserved for evidential purposes to address any inquiries or legal disputes related to the account's suspension.
Pending Issues or Disputes:
If there is an unresolved issue, claim, or dispute, we will keep the relevant information until it is fully resolved.
Legitimate Business Interests:
For purposes such as fraud prevention and enhancing user safety and security, we may retain certain data. For instance, we might store information to prevent banned users from creating new accounts due to unsafe behavior or security breaches.

This retention policy ensures that we balance our legal, regulatory, and business requirements with your privacy and security.

7. Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 18 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing Your information and Your country requires consent from a parent, we may require Your parent's consent before We collect and use that information.

Pookie app is a product of Plugaweb Tech Limited located in Nigeria. All privacy-related matters are subject to and governed by the laws of Nigeria.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will let You know via email and/or a prominent notice on Our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
