Biodiverse hotspot- is a conservation concept developed by Norman Myers in 1988. Hotspots are geographical areas that contain high numbers of endemic species.
Bushmeat- A wild-caught animal used as food (typically mammals, birds, and reptiles); usually referring to hunting in the tropics of sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Deforestation- Is the purposeful clearing of forested land.
Habitat heterogeneity- the number of ecological niches.
Keystone species- are species whose presence is key to maintaining biodiversity in an ecosystem and upholding an ecological community's structure.
Palm oil: Palm oil is used in many products, including food products, cosmetics, and biodiesel in Europe.
