This project is a large-scale project that aims to understand how political attitudes and the vote are shaped among a diverse electorate. We begin through existing work on the gender gap to take a gender and race-conscious approach to understanding political behavior.
Several questions we ask are:
Machismo, sexism, misogynoir: are they really that different?
Are measures of masculinity, core values, personality predispositions:
measurement invariant?
equally predictive of political outcomes?
a result of similar antecedents?
How do political emotions shape political interest and behavior across different ethnoracial categories?
Does ethnoracial identity shape how masculinity impacts political behavior?
