What happens when people in Rural America encounter a rapidly diversifying environment that brings new life to their communities?
In this project we seek to better understand how place, people, and parties shape identities and politics using social psychological constructs to explore how Americans make sense of their place in a demographically changing world.
We use both survey and experimental methodology to test the relationship between constructs of rurality and cosmopolitanism as well as to explore how stable these constructs are.
