Privacy Policy – BeatMaker
Effective date: October 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the BeatMaker app ("the App"), published by Freshness ("we", "us", "our") on Google Play, collects, uses, and shares information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- You do not need an account to use the App.
- Your beat recordings, lesson progress, and settings are stored only on your device.
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob and uses Google Firebase to understand app usage and fix crashes. These services may collect device and usage information as described below.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following data is saved in the App's private storage on your device. We do not receive it:
- Beat recordings you create (.wav audio files) and their names, durations, and creation dates
- Your lesson progress (best scores and stars)
- Your app settings, such as your selected language and onboarding progress
The App does not use your microphone; recordings are created from the pads you tap.
You can delete individual recordings in "My Records" > Delete. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data removes all of this information.
3. Information collected by third-party services
The App uses the following Google services. They collect information automatically when you use the App:
a) Google AdMob (advertising)
Used to display ads, which keep the App free. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
- Device information (model, operating system version, language, screen size)
- Approximate location derived from your IP address
- Ad interaction data (ads viewed and clicked)
This information may be used to show personalized or non-personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.
b) Google Firebase Analytics (app usage)
Used to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. It may collect:
- App instance ID and Advertising ID
- Device information and approximate location (country/region)
- Usage events, such as screens viewed, features used, lessons played, and session length
c) Google Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
Used to find and fix bugs. When the App crashes, it may collect:
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- A Crashlytics installation identifier
These services are operated by Google and handle data under their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses data from partner apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide and improve the App's features
- Show ads that support free use of the App
- Analyze usage trends and app performance
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical problems
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
We do not use this information to identify you personally.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only:
- With Google (AdMob and Firebase) as described in Section 3, acting as our service providers
- When required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the App
When you tap "Share" on a recording, the standard Android share menu opens and you choose which app receives the file. That app handles the file under its own privacy policy.
6. Your choices and consent
- Ad personalization: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device). You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant.
- Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland: When required by law, the App asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown and before related data is used. You can change your choice at any time from the App's Settings.
- Users in certain U.S. states: You can opt out of the use of your information for personalized advertising using the device settings above.
- You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the App.
7. Data retention
- Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Data collected by Firebase Analytics is retained for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
- Crashlytics crash reports are retained for up to 90 days.
- AdMob data is retained according to Google's policies.
8. Device backup
If Android Backup is enabled on your device, Android may include the App's local data in your personal Google account backup. This backup is controlled by Google and your device settings.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Data security
Data on your device is kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot access. Data sent to Google services is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not link the collected data to your identity, please contact us with your request and any identifiers you can provide, and we will do our best to help. You can also contact Google directly regarding data processed by its services.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
