Notable Women of Western Kentucky

Pogue Library Special Collections has a variety of collections pertaining to notable women of Western Kentucky. These consist of newspaper clippings, notes, letters, photographs, greeting cards, and more dating back to 1828.

Dr. Ora K. Mason's campaign poster (left) for her 1926 run at a seat in the US Congress and the Murray State id card for Mary Ford Holland (above), the first Black student at the college.
